Csizmazia Gábor

Gábor Csizmazia is an assistant lecturer and research fellow at the University of Public Service. His fields of interest are U.S. foreign policy decision-making, security aspects of transatlantic relations, and theories of international relations. In addition to teaching courses on these subjects, his research focuses on U.S.-Central European relations: his PhD dissertation (summa cum laude, 2021) examined the Obama and Trump administrations’ foreign and security policies regarding the region. He was a visiting scholar at the George Washington University (2018) and is a Marshall Center alumnus who participated in the European Security Seminar (ESS-E 16-03) and in the internship program of the George C. Marshall Center for Security Studies (GCMC) in 2016 and 2014 respectively. He is a GCMC Alumni Scholar (2018) examining U.S. presence on Europe’s Eastern Flank. After having graduated at the University of West Hungary (2010) in international studies with honors, and spent an Erasmus Scholarship in Limerick, Ireland (2009) along with an internship at Euractiv.hu (2009) dealing with external relations of the EU, he has been working in the public sector since 2011. He has attended several domestic and international conferences as a speaker on contemporary security issues related to Central Europe (particularly the Visegrád countries) and the United States, and has participated in the training program for Hungarian government officials (2016). He speaks English (C1) and German (C1), and is a member of the Hungarian Atlantic Council.
